Spring
29/2/24
This week we started planning to write an Egyptian adventure story. This week we explored powerful adjectives so that we could make our writing more interesting. On Tuesday we got to be archeologists. We crawled through a ‘tomb’ in our classroom and at the end found lots of treasure. This was so helpful for our learning because we had a feel of what Egyptian tombs are like so found it easier to describe how they feel, taste, sound and look like.

This week we had an exciting visit from the Epping Forest Museum. We really enjoyed investigating some Ancient Egyptian replica artefacts such as a comb, canopic jars and amulets.
In Maths we finished our topic of length and perimeter and are excited to learn about fractions after half term!
In English we made some beautiful non-chronological reports based off of our Egyptian learning. We focused on our handwriting and making sure we used the correct spellings for the subject vocabulary.

This term in year 3, we have been learning all about the Ancient Egyptians! In English we are writing non chronological reports on an Egyptian topic such as mummification or pyramids, in Art we are creating our own Egyptian scroll art and in History we have been exploring the way the Ancient Egyptians live.
We have just finished our multiplication and division topic in Maths and are going to be starting to learn about length and perimeter in the next few weeks. We looked at partitioning numbers to make it easier for us to multiply or divide them. We have also been enjoying our times table races every Friday.
